A Silent Voice" (Japanese: "Koe no Katachi") written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. The story revolves around the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the impact of bullying.
The main character, Shoya Ishida, was once a bully who tormented a hearing-impaired girl named Shoko Nishimiya when they were both in elementary school. However, after Shoko transfers to another school due to the bullying, Shoya's life takes a turn. He becomes an outcast and experiences the same isolation and mistreatment he once inflicted upon Shoko.
Haunted by guilt and seeking redemption, Shoya decides to make amends and reconnect with Shoko. He learns sign language to communicate with her and tries to mend the broken relationships he had with his classmates. As Shoya works to redeem himself, he faces challenges, both internal and external, and grapples with the consequences of his past actions.
